We all want to make improvements in our lives. The problem is most of us are trying to force change to happen from a place of self fear or self abandonment rather than self love.
In other words, we have been taught to fear certain parts of ourselves and to try to hide them or deny them completely.
We have been taught to crave change so that we might finally feel worthy, loved, valued, seen, heard, good enough, understood, or appreciated. We have been taught that to be loved, by ourself or by another, we must look, act, or be a certain way.
I offer a different approach. One in which you start a new relationship with yourself
and transform your life from an empowered state.
A state of self love.
*SELF LOVE IS NOT ARROGANCE, CONCEITEDNESS, MAKING OTHERS FEEL SMALLER THAN YOU, BEING ON A PEDESTAL, BRAVADO, OR PRETENTIOUSNESS.
*SELF LOVE IS NOT MAKING YOURSELF RIGHT AND ANOTHER WRONG, OR YOURSELF BETTER THAN ANOTHER.
*SELF LOVE IS NOT WALLING YOURSELF OFF AND THINKING YOU HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY SELF SUFFICIENT.
*SELF LOVE IS A HEALTHY CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF; IT'S SELF RESPECT; A TRUST IN YOURSELF AND YOUR CHOICES- EVEN WHEN THEY DON'T WORK OUT AS PLANNED; IT'S CHOOSING TO HAVE LOVING RELATIONSHIPS RATHER THAN RELYING ON RELATIONSHIPS TO FEEL LOVED; AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SELF LOVE IS HONORING HOW YOU FEEL NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE FEELING.
*LEARNING TO LOVE YOURSELF MEANS CREATING NEW BELIEFS THAT SUPPORT THE PERSON YOU ARE BECOMING.
*TO SELF LOVE YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR OWN SHIT. LIKE THE DEEP SHIT THAT YOU'VE BEEN TRYING TO AVOID. YOU KNOW, THE INTENSE FEELINGS THAT MADE YOU DRINK, OR EAT, OR GAIN WEIGHT, OR (INSERT DESTRUCTIVE PATTERNS AND BELIEFS HERE) IN THE FIRST PLACE.
*SELF LOVE MEANS THAT YOU LOOK AT ALL OF WHO YOU ARE, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY- AND LEARN, PIECE BY PIECE, TO ACCEPT IT ALL. SELF LOVE DOESN'T TAKE YOU AWAY FROM ALL YOUR INNER DEMONS- IT HELPS YOU FACE THEM, ACCEPT THEM, AND ONE DAY, LOVE THEM TOO.
*SELF LOVE MEANS TRANSFORMATION. IT IS FULLY ACCEPTING YOUR INNER SELF AND FEELINGS AND WATCHING PATTERNS FALL AWAY WHEN THEY ARE NO LONGER KEEPING YOU SAFE IN SOME WAY
*SELF LOVE IS EXTREME AWARENESS OF YOUR THOUGHTS, EMOTIONS, BELIEFS, AND ACTIONS.
*SELF LOVE IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY, EATING GOOD FOOD, HAVING ABUNDANCE, AND CREATING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
